The graceful shell shaped vermeil bowl has a cast twig form handle on sculpted cast circular base. The hallmarks are AR, 84, the crossed anchor and scepter St. Petersburg mark. There are also two other incomplete and unreadable marks.  The base, made as a separate piece, is also hallmarked with the St. Petersburg mark and AR.

This elegant Russian silver-gilt dish was made in the imperial capital of St. Petersburg in about 1895 during the era of Tsar Nicholas II. The interior is lobed and gilded.  Weight: 17.6 ounces.
